RAUXA: galaxy S9 / VERIZON: PRE-ROLE VIDEO SCRIPT

The idea here was to develop a compelling narrative that would highlight the innovative capabilities of the Samsung 9 - with an emphasis on low-light and super slow-mo - while also demonstrating the reliability of Verizon's 4G LTE network. After a few cracks at this, I developed BOTTOM OF THE NINTH.

BOTTOM OF THE NINTH :30 VIDEO

Marilyn, black, mid-thirties, a police officer in uniform, is running down a residential street. She appears to be in pursuit. Her face is pure determination. She pulls out her Samsung S9.

M: Bixby, find Bellwood park. 

B: Straight ahead. 900 feet.

M: Forecast.

B: Heavy rains to begin at 8:25

M: Shoot!

B: Don’t shoot...ha

Marilyn reaches the park. She sprints up a hill revealing a baseball diamond in the distance. She jogs up to her spot behind the home plate fence. Sweat beads on her forehead. Her phone chimes. She sees a text from her husband. Text: “Honey, PLEASE LIVE STREAM IT! XOXOXOX” Rain begins to fall.

The bases are loaded. Her daughter - 12 years old, stands on the mound. 93 pounds of perseverance. She looks over at her mom. Marilyn smiles. Her daughter lowers her head and stares toward the plate.

Marilyn holds the phone against the chain link fence. We see the lens shift its focus. Light rain becomes downpour. The girl enters her wind up.

The pitch is captured in exquisite S9 slow motion. It’s like a dance. The ball is released. It twists slowly in the air. Pure science in motion.

It catches the edge of the plate. Strike three. The girl drops to her knees. Marilyn smiles proudly.
