FOUNDER / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Founded in 2014 in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Peninsula is a contemporary art gallery that represents emerging and mid-career artists. With a focus on artists living and working in New York, we have also cultivated relationships with artists from Canada and Germany. In spring 2022, we moved from Red Hook to the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
PENINSULA GALLERY, RED HOOK, BROOKLYN
Founder/Executive Director, Peninsula Gallery, NYC: Located in the Lower East side on NYC, Peninsula opened in May 2013 and has remained committed to showcasing both emerging and established contemporary artists.
Some of the artists we have showcased include Loie Hollowell, EJ Hauser, Joanna Malinowska, Lars Fisk, Meg Lipke, Rowan Renee and Francesca Capone.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS, YOUTH MENTORING AND COLLABORATIONS
Red Hook Digital Media Project: As director of Peninsula Gallery, hosted and helped organize a photo exhibit for South Brooklyn Community High School and The Point Community Development Corporation.
Scenarios USA: Mentored students at Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies, helping them develop story ideas for a nation wide writing project. Scenarios USA is a national non-profit organization that uses writing and film to foster youth leadership, advocacy and self-expression.
BSCS Internship Program: Provided an internship position at Peninsula for students at Brooklyn School of Collaborative Studies. (2014-present)
Red Hook Arts Project (RHAP): Joined a team of artists and writers from the Red Hook community to provide arts related tutoring to Red Hook youth. I also offered writing support to students preparing their college applications.
Accenture Youth Apprenticeship Program: As part of a Program aimed at providing creative opportunities to New York youth from underserved communities, I partnered with a Creative Director (Art) to mentor one of the 2023 apprentices.
