DEVELOPED THE CONCEPT AND MESSAGING FOR MARRIOTT’S BOOK THIS MINUTE CAMPAIGN. TO CELEBRATE MARRIOTT’S PARTNERSHIP WITH USA SWIMMING AND THE NHL, I WORKED WITH MY PARTNER TO CREATE BANNER ADS, VIDEO SPOTS AND PRINT ADS THAT RAN DURING A VARIETY OF NATIONAL SPORTING EVENTS.

The following series of shots are framed in an exaggerated style. We cut with the rhythm of an intensifying drumline.
Establishing shot of Hotel. Early morning, pale light, an American flag sways in the breeze.
CUE DRUMLINE
Outdoor shot of pool/hotel grounds. Early morning. Lush. Peaceful. An exotic bird stands on a diving board.
CUT TO:
INTERIOR – HOTEL – HALLWAY
Wide expansive hallway. Beautiful ornate carpet seems to go on forever. A bellhop appears in the distance pushing a cart towards camera.
DRUMLINE INTENSIFIES
CUT TO: Cart wheels rolling on carpet
CUT TO: White table cloth. Silver plate covers. A red flower in a tiny vase.
CUT TO: A hand knocking on door.
CUT TO: Interior hotel room. A family sits together. Multicultural. Cart rolls in. Bell hop removes silver plate covers. Bell hop leaves.
DRUMLINE INTENSIFIES
CUT TO: Four bowls containing bright paint. Red. Yellow. Green. Blue.
CUT TO: Hands tucking napkins into shirt necks.
CUT TO: Fingers dipping into paint.

CUT TO: Family’s feet marching along hallway.
CUT TO: Finger pushing elevator button leaving a bright smudge of yellow paint.

CUT TO: Shot of elevator door. Door opens. Family #2 stands quietly in the elevator. Father, wife, son and daughter. An infant is cradled in the mother’s arms. Five dramatically painted faces. Baby chews on a pacifier with a lightning bolt painted across her face.
CUT TO: Family #1 squeezing in.
DRUMLINE ENDS
CUT TO: Long shot. Elevator door is still open. Hold on crowded elevator facing camera. Deadpan morning expressions on vibrantly painted faces. A portrait of team spirit before coffee.

BOY: Grandpa. What’s a sacrifice fly?
GRANDPA: A sacrifice fly is when a batter hits a fly ball to advance a runner. He gives himself up.
BOY: He gives himself up for his friend?
GRANDPA: (laughs) Well, yes.
BOY: Grandpa?
GRANDPA: Yes?
BOY: That’s crazy.
GRANDPA: (laughs)
VOICE-OVER: The minute your grandson became a baseball fan.

Girl: Dad, what's a breaking ball?
Dad. A breaking ball is a pitch with movement.
Girl: Movement?
Dad: Yeah. The pitcher spins the ball, making it harder to hit.
Girl: So the ball breaks?
Dad: Well, it doesn’t actually break. It just moves funny in the air.
Girl: Dad?
Dad: Yes?
Girl: I think I like this game
Dad: (laughs)
